Artist Bio – Davey Robertson
I have been drawing, painting, and designing since childhood and developed an interest in tattooing later on in life after settling down with my partner and our children. I focused on being self taught and while on the path to tattooing I met and befriended Keven ‘Butch’ Johnson, owner of Ultimate Skin in Leeds who has inspired and encouraged me in my vision to own a professional custom design studio. His help and support will always be appreciated.
I opened my first studio in Hull in 2006 alongside the established Pandemic Body Piercing Studio. Later in 2008, after Pandemic had closed down earlier that year, “Cruithni” moved to our current location and I reopened the new studio in early 2009.
I am passionate in my work and through my study of historical and contemporary art and tattoo styles, I work to create unique designs to be tattooed for clients. This is a part of the process, as I also appreciate the creative input of our clients, whether it is visual or an oral translation of what is required. The aim is always for collaboration on the artwork, between artist and customer.
All of the work I produce is custom, and works with the style and design of the client, and with their body. I am experienced in colour, grey shade, and tribal tattooing, and am able to offer guidance and advice based on your idea’s to give you the perfect tattoo.
I will always be thankful for the help and support I’ve received from people along the way, and they know who they are, but most of all the thanks goes to my past and present clients who I have worked with developing the art.
